Although tiny, Chia seeds are becoming increasingly popular and have the flattering title of a true superfood. They are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, have six times more calcium than milk and fifteen times more magnesium than broccoli.
You can use them for breakfast with cereal and fruit, sprinkle them on various savory and sweet dishes (soups, sandwiches, salads, various vegetable dishes, desserts...), add them to bread dough, cakes and cookies. So, there are almost no limits to the use of chia seeds.
Before using, it is recommended to soak the seeds in water or another liquid for at least 10 minutes. When cooking, always add the seeds at the end because they lose some of their nutrients during heat treatment.
These seeds are also used to make gluten-free flour, which you can use alone or in combination with other types of flour.
