Zacapa rum is considered one of the best in the world. It is matured and blended in the “House Above the Clouds”, at 2300 meters above sea level. The fresh mountain air slows down the aging process, allowing Zacapa to rest and develop its character. Zacapa uses the unique Sistema Solera process, which is based on a centuries-old method of maturing - the old Spanish method of maturing sherry, combining rums of different ages in a series of barrels that have previously been used to store American whiskeys, sweet sherries and fine Pedro Ximenez wines.
